Political Cartoon 4
Sometimes in a presidential campaign, all the attention is on one party and suddenly the focus is on the other party. In this cartoon Barack Obama is standing on the right, Sarah Palin is on the left, and the media is in the middle running away from Obama towards Palin. This is showing that at one time the media was interested in Obama but now they are interested in Palin. Another example is that Obama is there in his suit with a sad face and Palin in there in here suit with a smiling face and her hand up to her face. Palin is happy because the attention is on her and her party, but Obama is sad because he is used to being the center of attention. Palin and Obama are noticing that since she has come into the race, the attention has been on her and that is why her hand is up to her face, sort of like she is thinking, “Man, this is working”. The presidential campaign was once all about Obama and his party, but things have changed and now the spotlight is on Palin and her party.
