Political Cartoon 2
The Presidential candidates are reflected as competitors of each other and not really worried about the needs of the people. In the cartoon John McCain is saying, “I said “change” 10 times today” and Barak Obama is saying, “I said “change” 20 timeS TODAY.” Then there is a guy that is unemployed that is saying, “I SAID CHANGE 300 TIMES TODAY.” This is showing that McCain and Obama are competing against each other over who can make the most changes if they become president of the United States, such as the government, etc. and the people of the United States need change but in way that can improve their finances and life style. Another example of not worrying about the people is that both McCain and Obama are standing in their suits with their thumbs pointing at them with big smiles on their faces, while the unemployed citizen is sitting there barely clothed and a money cup in his hand looking devastated and exhausted. The candidates are happy with themselves and proud of their self and the other guy is sitting there from a long days of work on the street, trying to collect change. The presidential candidates are proving that they are worried about themselves and each other but not the people, the ones they are suppose to be worried about.
