Political Cartoon
The Democratic Party is reflected as a Party where the leader is seen as royalty, similar to a dictatorship. For example, in the cartoon Obama is in a robe with two columns behind him and a big “O” over his head. This shows that Obama is being compared to a dictator, possibly Julius Caesar. The “O” over his head is showing that he thinks that it is all about him. Another example of royalty in the cartoon is that Obama is standing there with his hands in the air telling the crowd, “BUT REMEMBER…THIS IS ALL ABOUT YOU!” This represents that Obama is there for himself, but is claiming to be there for the people. He is standing on stage like it is his throne and taking in all the praise that the crowd is giving him. Obama is being depicted as a leader of royalty and dictating, proving what the Democratic Party really stands for.
